Peggy Rathman was born March 4, 1953, in St. Paul,
Minnesota. She grew up with two brothers and two sisters. Peggy Rathman loves to
travel to new places and meet new people. Wherever she goes, she likes to draw
for children.
Before she became an artist, Peggy Rathman thought
she might become a doctor. As an artist, she has won many awards, including the
Caldecott Medal for Officer Buckle and Gloria.
